Directions to Edit Your Wordpress Website

Make sure you are logged in to Wordpress with your username and password. Then the dashboard should look like the above photo.
EDIT PAGES
To edit a page in WordPress, you can:
Log in to your WordPress website
Click Pages or Posts in the menu bar on the left
Select the page you want to edit from the list
Click Edit to open the page editor
Make your changes
Click Update to save and publish your changes or use the Preview button first.

EDIT POSTS
To edit a post in WordPress, you can do the following:
Log into WordPress
Go to the dashboard and select Posts > All Posts
Find the post you want to edit and click on its title or Edit
Make your changes in the post editor.
Click Publish to update the post use the preview button first.

Make a sticky post – this makes your post always show up first. Go to posts on left side and choose all posts- then select “quick edit”. Check or uncheck the button that says “sticky post”


Add a Featured Image to your post
When editing your post look at the far right sidebar column- choose “featured image” . Ensure you have selected the “post” tab and not the “block” tab or you can not see the featured image listed. Add your featured image photo from the media library or upload it. This is so the listing will have a photo on the home page with your post title.

How to Add a link

To add the link use your mouse or touchpad, highlight the text you want to add a link to.
A toolbar will appear directly above the text. Click the link icon that looks like the link of a chain:
Enter the URL you want to link to in the pop-up textbox
If you want users to stay on the original page, check the box that says Open link in a new tab
Press the submit or save button to apply the hyperlink or you can press enter.
